Pereira successfully defended title against Jamahal Hill with first-round knockout
At UFC 305, Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka will face off in the main event for the second time. The highly anticipated rematch comes after Pereira knocked out Prochazka at UFC 295 to capture the vacant light heavyweight championship. The title was vacated due to an injury sustained by Jamahal Hill, who previously held the belt.
In their first encounter, Pereira delivered a memorable performance at Madison Square Garden in New York City. He knocked out Prochazka in the second round with a powerful right hand, becoming just the ninth fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two divisions. Pereira had previously won the middleweight belt by defeating Israel Adesanya.
Since then, Pereira has successfully defended his light heavyweight title against Hill at UFC 300 with a first-round knockout. The rematch between Pereira and Prochazka promises to be an exciting affair as both fighters look to prove their dominance in the division.
In the first round of their initial bout, Pereira knocked down Prochazka right before the bell. Despite injuring his toe during the fight, Pereira continued and finished Prochazka with a knockout.
Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka clash again in the main event of UFC 305 on Saturday night.
