Apple has released public betas for its latest operating systems, including iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and watchOS 11. The betas bring various new features to each platform.
For iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 users, the updates include support for RCS messaging and customization options such as the ability to put apps wherever they want on the homescreen or apply a tint to the icons and widgets. The Photos app also receives a new layout, Control Center is redesigned, and dark mode icons are introduced.
macOS Sequoia enables users to mirror their iPhone on their desktop or laptop screen. watchOS 11 introduces features like rest days and the Vitals app for glanceable details on overnight health metrics.
Apple Intelligence AI features, which will be available later in the beta testing process, are not included in these initial betas. They will only be available on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, as well as M1 and up Macs and iPads.
Next year, Apple is expected to release an iPhone 17 Pro Max with a 48-megapixel Tetraprism camera for enhanced photo quality and zoom functionality. Samsung has also introduced Galaxy Buds3 Pro earbuds, similar in design to AirPods Pro 2.
To download the public betas, developers can enroll in the Apple beta program and check each device's installation instructions on Apple's website.
