Apple unveiled macOS Sequoia during its WWDC 2024 Keynote event, bringing two new wallpapers to the latest Mac operating system. The first one, named Helios, boasts a dynamic gradient design with vibrant warm and cool tones. The second one is called Macintosh and pays homage to classic Mac graphics by highlighting retro icons that animate and shift through different graphics.
The macOS Sequoia update requires installation for the full animated effect of both wallpapers. While waiting for the official release, Apple enthusiasts have shared high-resolution screenshots of these new designs. The Macintosh wallpaper includes recognizable icons such as the Happy Mac boot-up icon, Dogcow (Clarus), floral-inspired Command icon, and Bomb.
Apple is planning to release macOS Sequoia later this year. In the meantime, users can enjoy these new wallpapers on their devices as static images.
macOS Sequoia also introduces other features such as a major AI overhaul called Apple Intelligence, and compatibility with older iPhone models like the XR, XS, and XS Max due to their A12 Bionic chip. However, it's important to note that not all sources agree on every detail regarding these updates.
