Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 is scheduled to begin on June 10, with a keynote address starting at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET. During this event, Apple is expected to unveil major upgrades for its iOS and other operating systems.
One of the most anticipated updates is the revamped Siri, which will reportedly receive an AI overhaul that allows it to control individual app features without requiring setup by developers or users. Users will be able to ask Siri to perform tasks like deleting emails or editing photos. However, some of its upgraded AI capabilities, such as handling multi-step tasks, are not yet ready.
Siri is also expected to be available on the Apple Watch for on-the-go use and will have more natural-sounding voices. Additionally, Siri will be able to summarize notifications that include people, companies, calendar events, locations, dates and more.
Another significant update is the customization of app icons on the Home Screen. Users may be able to place app icons anywhere on the grid and change their colors.
Apple is also introducing new accessibility features including Eye Tracking, New Music Haptics, Vocal Shortcuts, and Vehicle Motion Cues.
Furthermore, visionOS 2 is expected to bring more first-party apps and reordering of apps on the Home screen. The Vision Pro international rollout dates are also anticipated to be shared during WWDC 2024.
macOS 15 will focus on AI features taking advantage of Apple's Neural Engine and an updated design for System Settings.
Stay tuned for more updates from WWDC 2024.
