Russian attacks on Ukraine claimed at least 12 lives, including four children, on June 29, as fighting intensified in several regions of the war-battered country. The latest wave of Russian offensives targeted the Zaporizhzhia region and the cities of Vilniansk and Dnipro.
According to reports from various sources, at least seven people were killed by a Russian missile strike in Zaporizhzhia region, while one person was killed and 12 were wounded in an attack on Dnipro city. Four more people were reportedly killed and 23 injured in eastern villages.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for Western allies to speed up weapons deliveries as the death toll from Russian attacks continued to rise. He warned that any delay in decisions could result in further loss of human lives.
The attacks came as Russia stepped up air raids on Ukrainian infrastructure, often targeting energy facilities and other vital installations. The total number of hostile attacks along the entire front line had risen to 90, according to Ukraine's military.
Russian forces have been attacking Zaporizhzhia Oblast for the second time on June 29, with an explosion occurring outside Zaporizhzhia city. The governor of the region warned that the number of casualties may still increase.
The attacks on Ukrainian cities and communities have become a daily occurrence, with Vilniansk and other settlements suffering from Russian strikes due to their proximity to the front line. Seven settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast were attacked 314 times over the past day.
