June 18, 2024 BMW has introduced the new 2025 X3 with two trims: the X3 30 xDrive and the top-spec X3 M50 xDrive. The compact luxury SUV has undergone a significant redesign, growing in size with a decrease in height, increase in length and width.
The BMW X3 now measures 187.2 inches long, 75.6 inches wide, and 65.4 inches tall. The kidney grille has adopted both vertical and angular line effects for a sportier look.
Both trims come standard with all-wheel drive and BMW's eight-step Steptronic automatic transmission.
The X3 30 xDrive uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a mild-hybrid system, making 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The X3 M50 xDrive features M Sport brakes, quad tailpipes, and Adaptive M Sport suspension.
The new X3 can tow up to 4,850 pounds with the optional trailer hitch. It is available in 11 metallic shades including a new color called Dune Grey metallic for the X3 30 xDrive, and ten exterior colors including one solid color for the X3 M50 xDrive.
The entry-level X3 30 xDrive starts at $50,675 and the top-spec X3 M50 xDrive starts at $65,275.
BMW has dropped the 'i' designation for fuel injection from the X3's nomenclature. The automaker is focusing on electrification with models like the BMW i4, i5, and i7 in development.
The X3 M full fat version is expected to return next year.
