CBS has announced the green light for a new series titled Sheriff Country, which is a spinoff of the hit drama Fire Country. The show will star Morena Baccarin in the lead role as Mickey Fox, who is Sharon Leone's (Diane Farr) stepsister from their parents' previous marriage. In Sheriff Country, Mickey investigates criminal activity and patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater while dealing with her ex-con father and a wayward daughter.
Fire Country, which premiered in 2022, has been renewed for a third season. The new series will join CBS's lineup during the 2025-26 broadcast season. Tony Phelan and Joan Rater are writing the pilot episode of Sheriff Country with a story by Phelan, Rater, and Max Thieriot.

Morena Baccarin stars as Mickey Fox, the stepsister of Cal Fire’s division chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr), who investigates criminal activity in small-town Edgewater.
Mickey has an unfortunate past with Sharon’s son Bode (Max Thieriot), who joined the Cal Fire firefighting program after being put behind bars by Mickey.
Fire Country was the most watched new broadcast series last season, averaging 8 million viewers per episode and 10 million in live+35 multi-platform viewing.
