Courtney Love, the former lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the alternative rock band Hole, has moved to London and based herself in an attic room at Chiltern Firehouse. She has recently created an ad hoc salon during lockdown, featuring Kate Moss and Laura Bailey. Love is also set to present a new eight-part series on BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Sounds called 'Courtney Love's Women.'
In a recent interview with The Standard, Love expressed her opinion that Taylor Swift is not important as an artist. She stated, 'Taylor is not important. She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of now, but she’s not interesting as an artist.' Love had previously called Swift a 'huge role model' on social media.
Love also criticized Lana Del Rey for covering a John Denver song and suggested that she take seven years off. She stated, 'I haven’t liked Lana since she covered a John Denver song, and I think she should really take seven years off.' Love is known for her outspokenness and has been critical of other artists in the past.
Love's comments about Swift did not sit well with some fans, who defended the Midnights artist and criticized Love. However, Love remains unapologetic about her opinions.
In addition to her thoughts on Swift and Del Rey, Love also shared her feelings about Beyoncé's music. She stated that while she appreciates the concept of Beyoncé's country album, Cowboy Carter, she doesn't like the music itself.
Love rose to fame in the '90s as a member of Hole and is known for her tumultuous personal life, including her marriage to Nirvana guitarist Kurt Cobain. Together they have a daughter named Frances Bean Cobain.
