Cyndi Lauper Announces Farewell Tour: A Look at the Iconic Singer's Final Tour and Documentary
Pop music legend Cyndi Lauper has announced her farewell tour, set to begin in October 2024. The singer, known for hits like 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun' and 'Time After Time,' will perform in major cities across the US and Canada before retiring from touring.
The three-month tour kicks off at the Bell Centre in Montreal on October 18, followed by shows in New York City, California, Chicago, and other major cities. Lauper's final concert will take place at the United Center in Chicago on December 5.
Before her farewell tour begins, Lauper will make appearances at several festivals this summer. She is scheduled to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Glastonbury Festival, and Rock in Rio in Brazil.
Tickets for the tour go on sale with an artist presale beginning Tuesday and general sales starting Friday at 10 a.m. local time.
A documentary about Lauper's life and career titled 'Let the Canary Sing' will also be released on Paramount+ on Tuesday, June 3 in the US and Canada. The film, directed by Emmy Award winner Alison Ellwood, explores Lauper's rise to stardom and her advocacy work.
Cyndi Lauper reached pop music success with her debut album 'She's So Unusual' and singles 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun' and 'Time After Time.' She is the first woman in history to have four top-five singles from a debut album, earning her a best new artist Grammy Award.
