Daryl Hall, one half of the renowned pop duo Hall & Oates, has initiated a legal battle against his former bandmate, John Oates. The lawsuit, filed in Nashville's Chancery Court, is classified as a 'Contract/Debt' dispute. However, the specific details of the case remain undisclosed as the court has sealed the documents.
The case also involves John Oates's wife, Aimee Oates, and Richard Flynn, who are listed as co-trustees of The John W. Oates TISA Trust. The nature of their involvement in the dispute is currently unclear due to the confidential nature of the lawsuit.
In addition to the lawsuit, Hall has been granted a temporary restraining order against Oates, effective from November 30. The restraining bond was set at $US50,000. The specific reasons for the restraining order remain undisclosed.
Despite the ongoing legal battle, Hall is scheduled to perform in Japan and The Philippines. This indicates that the duo's legal issues have not halted their individual professional commitments.
Hall and Oates, who first met in 1967, have had a long and successful career in the music industry. They have previously stated that they never fought and have been touring together as recently as last year. However, Hall revealed last year that the pair would no longer be making music together, indicating a shift in their professional relationship.
Representatives for both Hall and Oates have been contacted for comment on the lawsuit and the restraining order. However, neither party has made a statement regarding the matter at this time.
