Buckley and Coody both shot 65s in resumed round
Davis Riley leads Charles Schwab Challenge with score of 10 under par after bogey-free second round
Riley two strokes ahead of Hayden Buckley and Pierceson Coody
Weather delay caused play to be suspended for approximately 70 minutes during second round
FORT WORTH, Texas – Davis Riley took a commanding lead at the Charles Schwab Challenge after a bogey-free second round that was delayed by rain. Riley, who had a score of 10 under par, was two strokes ahead of Hayden Buckley and Pierceson Coody after they both shot 65s in the resumed round.
Riley's impressive performance came despite a weather delay that caused play to be suspended for approximately 70 minutes. During the break, Riley took advantage of the time to rest and refocus before returning to complete his round.
Buckley and Coody also had strong showings on Friday, with Buckley resuming play with a birdie and finishing the round with a score of 65. Coody parred out after the delay and finished his round with three consecutive birdies, including a 30-footer at the par-3 16th.
Sungjae Im (64) and Keegan Bradley (66) were tied for fourth place at 6 under. Scottie Scheffler, who was tied for 15th place at a stroke better than Jordan Spieth, had a second-round score of 67.
Riley's only PGA Tour win came in the Zurich Classic team event with Nick Hardy last year in New Orleans. He will look to add another victory when play resumes on Saturday.
