Diablo 4's Season 5 Public Test Realm (PTR) is set to begin on June 25 and run until July 2, offering players a chance to test upcoming changes and features before the official launch. The PTR will be available for PC Battle.net account holders only.
Season 5 introduces several significant updates, including new Uniques, quality-of-life improvements such as no need to reset Boss dungeons and color changes for Mythic Unique items, and a roguelike endgame experience called Infernal Hordes. This mode features wave-based gameplay where players fight against increasingly difficult waves of enemies, with the option to choose Boons and Banes at the end of each wave.
Additionally, new Tempering Recipes have been introduced for various classes like Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, and Rogue. Floating Combat Text has also been updated for better legibility and customization.
Players can look forward to a balance pass for Uniques, Legendary aspects, and classes. The Inventory system has been improved to make items stand out more. World bosses now offer experience rewards for side quests, and skills that grant immunity such as Flame Shield and Blood Mist have been adjusted.
More weapon types are now available to more classes like Druids, Necromancers, Sorcerers, and the layouts of various dungeons have been streamlined. The Utility Category has been expanded to bring more depth to affixes.
The Diablo 4 team encourages players to provide feedback during the PTR period so that adjustments can be made before Season 5 goes live for everyone.
