In a tragic incident that unfolded on May 22, 2024, in Chester, Pennsylvania, a disgruntled former employee of Delaware County Linen went on a shooting rampage at the family-owned linen store. The business is located at 2600 block of W. 4th Street and serves restaurants, country clubs, hotels and other businesses in the region with its rental and laundry services. This workplace shooting left two people dead and three others injured.

The suspect, who had issues with colleagues in the past but had no known history of violent behavior, was a disgruntled employee who had been employed by Delaware County Linen prior to the incident. He arrived at the workplace armed with a handgun and opened fire on his former co-workers. The shooting took place both inside and outside of the business premises.

The police responded swiftly to the scene, apprehending the suspect shortly after he had committed the crime. The shooter was taken into custody by nearby Trainer police after they stopped his vehicle following a description of his car that was released by authorities. The two individuals who lost their lives were identified as a supervisor and another employee, both of whom had shown up for work that day. One of the wounded victims is currently in critical condition at a nearby hospital while the other two are reported to be in stable condition.

Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer described the incident as an “absolute tragedy” and requested prayers for the injured individuals. Chester Police Commissioner Steven Gretsky also expressed his condolences to the families of those affected by this terrible event.
