Google AI Debut: Add Me, Pixel Screenshots, and Studio - New Features to Compete with Samsung

Google AI is set to make its debut soon, as it gears up to compete with Samsung's Galaxy AI in the upcoming Google Pixel 9 series. The new suite of AI features will include a mix of existing and brand-new functionalities. Among them are Circle to Search and Gemini, which are already available on Pixel phones but will now be listed under the Google AI branding. Three entirely new features set to be introduced with Google AI include Add Me, Pixel Screenshots, and Studio.

Add Me is a feature that ensures everyone is included in a group photo. It appears to be an improved version of the existing Best Take feature and merges different group photos to make sure each person in the group appears in the image. Pixel Screenshots, which resembles Microsoft's Recall feature, analyzes screenshots saved on your phone to find useful information within them. When this feature is turned on, a Pixel device will save relevant text and URLs in those screenshots. It also saves the app names and when the screenshot was captured. Thankfully, this feature respects privacy and only extracts information from the screenshots you capture manually and uses on-device AI to process data.

The Studio feature in Google AI appears to be an all-in-one app that uses AI to generate stickers, images, wallpapers, and more based on text inputs from a user. In addition to these new features, Samsung's recent high-end phones have also had an AI Wallpaper Generator, Generative AI-powered image editing, and Circle to Search. However, it is missing features similar to Google AI's Add Me and Pixel Screenshots.

Some reports claim that Samsung is working on an AI image generator that can create better versions of rough drawings and sketches you make using an S Pen. This feature will likely debut with One UI 6.1.1 on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 next week.
