Google is set to unveil the Pixel 9 series on August 13, and with it comes a range of new features and improvements. According to various sources, one of the most notable additions is Google's focus on AI capabilities for the Pixel 9. In an effort to target competitors like Samsung, Google will offer a year of its Google One AI Premium Plan for free to Pixel 9 buyers.
The plan includes several perks such as 2TB cloud storage, FitBit Premium (U.K. only), Nest Aware (U.K only), unlimited magic editor saves in Google Photos, and Gemini tools in Workspace apps.
But that's not all - the Pixel 9 is also rumored to have a new feature called 'Add Me.' This feature allows users to add missing persons to group photos, even if they weren't present during the shot. The 'Add Me' function stitches together two images with the same background and inserts the missing person into the scene.
The Pixel 9 is also expected to have a more traditional foldable design, featuring a taller, narrower cover display and an almost square folding screen. Both displays will offer better brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is also rumored to feature Google's new Tensor G4 SoC and may come with up to 16GB of RAM.
In addition, the Pixel 9 is expected to have a 48MP main camera, accompanied by a 10.5MP ultrawide snapper, a 10.8MP telephoto sensor, and two 10MP selfie cams.
Google's focus on AI capabilities for the Pixel 9 is evident in its marketing efforts as well. The company has been teasing the device's AI features through various leaks and ads, including one that showcases Google's Gemini tool which can analyze images and make suggestions or answer questions.
It remains to be seen how these new features will stack up against competitors like Samsung, but one thing is for sure - Google is making a strong push towards AI integration in its devices.
