A new update for the Google Pixel Camera app is being rolled out, bringing several enhancements to select Pixel models. The update includes revised lens options for UW, W, and T on the Pixel 6, 7 Pro, and Fold devices. Users can now manually select a lens setting in the Pro tab. Additionally, RAW and JPEG image settings are available in the Pro tab.
The update also brings improved HDR+ that detects best moments from a series of pictures to ensure optimal results. The ability to manually select a lens is now rolling out to the Pro models of the Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel Fold. These letters correspond to ultrawide, wide, and telephoto respectively.
Google continues to push out updates that improve the user experience for its devices. The latest June Feature Drop brought a range of new features including Gemini Nano on more devices, enhanced Recorder summaries, and manual lens selection for select Pixel models.
The update is still rolling out to users and may not be available to all yet. Once it is received, users will have the ability to choose from one of three lens settings with UW, W, and T becoming the new options. The Pro tab will deliver a handful of options like being able to set the lens selection from auto to manual along with the ability to choose from RAW and JPEG image settings.
The update also brings an improved experience with HDR+ that can detect the best moments from a series of pictures, ensuring optimal results. This means fewer throwaways and more photos where subjects have open eyes and big smiles each time.
