The larger model may offer a higher capacity battery (420mAh) compared to the smaller one (310mAh). Both watches will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 platform with a custom co-processor.

Android Headlines later reported that the Pixel Watch 3 lineup would include ten different band options: Active Band, Active Sport Band, Woven Band, Stretch Band, Metal Mesh Band, Metal Links Band, Metal Slim Band, Two-tone LeatherBand and Crafted LeatherBand and Performance LoopBand. The Active Band will be available in colors Obsidian, Porcelain, Hazel, and Rose Quartz (41mm only). The Active Sport Band will offer Wintergreen as a new color option. The Woven Band adds Peony to its collection. The Stretch Band gets Wintergreen and Rose Quartz.

Completely new to the lineup is the Pixel Watch 3's Performance Loop band, which will come in Obsidian, Porcelain, Peony, and Wintergreen color options. However, it is delayed until October.

The Pixel Watch 3 won't support all bands from the previous model. The Active Band (Rose Quartz), Woven Band (Peony and Wintergreen), Stretch Band, Metal Mesh Band, Metal Slim Band, and Two-Tone LeatherBand will not be compatible with the Pixel Watch 3 in its 45mm size.

Google's larger Pixel Watch 3 is expected to offer a larger 1.45-inch display and have a bigger battery for better endurance. It will be branded as 'Pixel Watch 3 (45mm)' rather than the 'Pixel Watch 3 XL' that some had speculated.

The Pixel Watch 3 is set to compete with other high-end smartwatches like the Galaxy Watch Ultra, which offers a square-ish design and a titanium case. The Pixel Watch 3 XL, on the other hand, will have a 'domed' design and an aluminum casing.
