The Heisman Trophy ceremony for the 2023 season is set to take place tonight at the Lincoln Center in New York City. The event will be broadcasted live on ESPN at 7 p.m. CT, with streaming options available on ESPN+ and Fubo.
The four finalists for the prestigious award are Jayden Daniels from LSU, Bo Nix from Oregon, Michael Penix Jr. from Washington, and Marvin Harrison Jr. from Ohio State. Notably, Marvin Harrison Jr. is the only non-quarterback finalist this year.
Jayden Daniels, the LSU quarterback, has emerged as the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. He has had an impressive season, becoming the first player to throw for at least 12,000 yards and rush for at least 3,000 yards in his career. If Daniels wins, he would be the 16th player from the SEC to receive the award.
Bo Nix from Oregon also had a stellar season, but his chances might have been affected by a loss in the Pac-12 championship game. Meanwhile, Michael Penix Jr. from Washington won the Maxwell Award for best player, and Marvin Harrison Jr. from Ohio State won the Biletnikoff Award for best receiver.
The Heisman Trophy winner is determined by a voting process involving 928 voters, including media and former Heisman Trophy winners. The CBS Sports straw poll, which has accurately predicted the Heisman winner for the past three years, has Daniels as the clear winner.
