HONOR, a leading global provider of smart devices, has announced ambitious plans to integrate AI throughout its Magic OS 8.0 software at VivaTech, a major European tech event. The company claims to have debuted the industry's first intent-based UI with Magic OS 8.0 and introduced a '4-Layer AI Architecture' for embedding AI capabilities at every level of the user experience.
Magic Portal, a feature consolidating complex tasks into single-step processes, adapts to individual user behaviors and preferences. It currently supports 100 top applications across seven scenarios. HONOR plans to incorporate generative AI applications into its upcoming smartphones, partnering with Google Cloud for these integrations.
The HONOR 200 Series, launching in Paris on June 12, will be powered by the AI-enhanced Magic OS 8.0. The company has also announced plans to roll out Magic OS 8.0 to its HONOR Magic V2 and HONOR 90 devices.
Google AI is being integrated into the Android operating system, revolutionizing how users interact with their phones. Gemini on Android improves context understanding, allowing users to drag and drop generated images and ask questions about videos and PDFs. Gemini Nano with Multimodality is coming to Pixel, bringing multimodal capabilities for richer image descriptions and scam alerts during phone calls.
HONOR's AI revolution goes beyond MagicOS, as the company is also preparing to launch a vertical-folding style smartphone with Google AI features, including Gemini and Imagen 2. This integration builds on Honor already running the U.S. firm's operating system Android on its smartphones.
