The iconic 'Home Alone' house, made famous by the 1990 holiday film of the same name, is now for sale. The massive brick house, located in Winnetka, Illinois, is listed at $5.25 million.
Built in 1921 and spanning over 9,100 square feet, the five-bedroom and six-bathroom house was last sold in 2012 for $1.585 million. The interior of the home has a minimal and modern black-and-white style.
The exterior of the house was used as the McCallister family home in 'Home Alone' and its sequel, 'Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.' The listing agent, Katie Moor of Dawn McKenna Group, declined to comment on potential buyers.
The house was built in 1921 and features two laundry rooms, a gym, a private movie theater room and an indoor sports court.
The interior of the home looks very different from the one depicted in the movie where Kevin McCallister defended himself from burglars. The renovated kitchen has an open-floor plan with a sunroom attached to it, and the basement has a basketball court and home theater.
The house was previously listed on Zillow in May 2024 and had already been viewed over 500,000 times before being taken down. It was previously sold in 2012 for $1.585 million, making the current listing a significant price increase.
Winnetka is located along Lake Michigan, about 20 miles north of Chicago.
Fans of the movie were given the opportunity to rent the house for one night only in 2021 for $25. A fan-designed replica of the house was also sold by Lego in 2021 for $249.99.
The 'Home Alone' house is a rare opportunity to own a piece of cinematic history and create lasting memories within its iconic walls.
