On April 13th, Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian villages in the occupied West Bank after a missing teenage shepherd was found dead. The IDF confirmed that Binyamin Achimair's cause of death was due to a terrorist murder and is currently pursuing those responsible for his death. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered an intense investigation into the murder, stating that it is a serious crime and will not tolerate any harm coming to Israeli citizens. He also urged all Israelis to help security services do their work without hindrance.
The attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinian villages in the West Bank have been ongoing for months, with tensions simmering between the two sides. On Friday, a Palestinian Jehad Abu Alia was killed and 25 others were wounded in an attack on al-Mughayyir village. On Saturday, Israeli troops delayed for several hours the ambulance carrying a man's body for burial, witnesses said. Dozens of Israeli settlers returned to the village's outskirts and burned 12 homes and several cars.
In nearby Douma, Israeli settlers set fire to around 15 homes and 10 farms.
