Jennifer Lopez, the renowned singer and actress, announced the cancellation of her 2024 North American tour titled 'This Is Me... Live.' The tour was scheduled to kick off on June 26 in Orlando and conclude in Houston on August 31. In a statement shared with her fans through her website, Lopez expressed her disappointment and promised to make it up to them.
The cancellation comes after reports of poor ticket sales for the tour. Several dates had already been canceled earlier this year, and screenshots of ticket-booking websites showed swaths of unsold seats for some shows. The decision was made as Lopez takes time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.
The tour was meant to support Lopez's ninth album 'This Is Me... Now,' which came out in February as her first solo album in nearly a decade. However, the album didn't chart well and debuted at No. 38 on the Billboard 200, marking a career low for the entertainer.
Lopez's tour was not alone in facing challenges this year. Other artists like The Black Keys and Pink also had to make changes to their touring schedules due to scheduling conflicts or health issues.
Live Nation, the event-promoting giant responsible for the tour, confirmed the cancellation and shared that attendees who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster would be automatically refunded. For those who bought tickets via third-party resale sites like SeatGeek, StubHub, or VividSeats, they were advised to contact their point of purchase for more details.
Despite the cancellation and recent tabloid rumors about her marriage to Ben Affleck, Lopez remained silent during a press junket last week for her latest film 'Atlas.' When asked about the rumors, she responded with 'You know better than that.'
