John Krasinski's new movie, IF, is projected to have a strong opening weekend at the box office. The film, which he also directed and stars in, tells the story of a young girl who can see imaginary friends and sets out to reunite them with their former companions. IF is set to hit North American theaters on May 17.
The movie features an impressive cast including Ryan Reynolds as Cal, Steve Carell as Blue, an imaginary friend, and Cailey Fleming as Bea. Krasinski is best known for his directorial work on the A Quiet Place series and has previously directed films such as Brief Interviews with Hideous Men and The Hollars.
IF has already generated significant interest from audiences, particularly parents and the 17-34 demographic, especially females. Paramount Pictures is producing the film alongside Krasinski's own production company, Sunday Night Productions, and Reynolds' Maximum Effort production company.
The movie also stars notable actors such as Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Emily Blunt, Jon Stewart, Bradley Cooper, Louis Gossett Jr., Blake Lively, George Clooney, Vince Vaughn and Amy Schumer.
IF marks Krasinski's latest directorial effort since A Quiet Place Part II in 2020. He is also known for his role as Jim Halpert on The Office and his voice role as Clark Kent/Superman in DC League of Super-Pets.
The film has been generating buzz due to its unique premise and star-studded cast, leading to high expectations for its opening weekend at the box office.
