Jordan Love Signs NFL's Richest Contract Extension: $220M Over 4 Years

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has signed a historic contract extension, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history. The deal is worth $220 million over four years, with a signing bonus of $75 million and new full guarantees of $155 million.

Love's breakout season in 2023 saw him lead the Packers to the postseason as a starter for the first time since 1990. He threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and just 11 interceptions during the regular season.

The extension comes after Love's rookie contract and before he was set to enter free agency in 2025. The Packers drafted him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft despite having Aaron Rodgers under contract.

Love's new deal surpasses the previous record for highest-paid quarterback, held by Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow, who both earn an average annual salary of $55 million.

The Packers had previously spent the least amount of money in the NFL this offseason due to their massive dead cap number from past contracts. With Love's new deal, they now have around $20 million to $25 million in salary cap space remaining for 2024.
