Madden NFL 25: Unveiling BOOM Tech, New Commentary Teams, and Enhanced Gameplay Features

Madden NFL 25, the latest installment in the long-running football video game franchise from Electronic Arts (EA), was officially unveiled on June 14, 2024. The game is set to be released worldwide on August 16 for PlayStation, Xbox consoles, and PC.

One of the most significant additions to Madden NFL 25 is BOOM Tech, a dynamic physics-based tackling system that unlocks the reengineered Hit Stick. This new feature aims to provide players with more control over ball carrier movements and create a more authentic football experience. The Hit Stick will now be skill-based, with playing ratings influencing its impact.

Another notable change is the addition of new commentary teams for Madden NFL 25. Mike Tirico and Greg Olsen will handle play-by-play commentary, while Kate Scott and Brock Huard will provide color analysis. These new teams join Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis as options for players.

Madden NFL 25 also features improvements in offense, defense, and special teams. Ball Carrier introduces new jukes, spins, hesi-releases to increase offensive immersion. The NFL kickoff rules will be added when the game is released this August. In addition to new branching catches and pass block strategy mechanics, there are also reloaded hit stick mechanics for more realistic hits based on timing and ball carrier control.

Madden NFL Senior Production Director Mike Mahar expressed his excitement about the upcoming release, stating that Madden NFL 25 will look, feel, and sound different from its predecessors. He emphasized the importance of delivering control, depth, and immersion to players. The game is now available for pre-order with a $100 Deluxe Edition offering early access on August 13.
