Mamie Laverock, a 19-year-old actress known for her role as Rosaleen Sullivan on the Hallmark Channel series 'When Calls the Heart,' is currently in critical condition after falling from a balcony. The incident occurred on May 26, two weeks after she was initially hospitalized due to an unspecified medical emergency.
Laverock's parents, Nicole and Rob Compton, shared the devastating news on a GoFundMe page they set up to help cover the costs of her extensive medical treatment. According to their update, Mamie was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories.
The fall resulted in life-threatening injuries, necessitating multiple extensive surgeries and leaving her on life support. Her parents expressed their shock and devastation at the situation, stating that they are trying to be by her side every day during this difficult time.
Laverock's 'When Calls the Heart' co-stars have rallied around her, with leading lady Erin Krakow and Molly Sullivan actress Johannah Newmarch both sharing links to the GoFundMe page on their social media accounts. Krakow urged her followers to donate if they were able, while Newmarch expressed her love for the family and offered support.
Laverock's acting career began in 2014 when she joined 'When Calls the Heart,' earning awards for her role as Rosaleen Sullivan. She has also appeared in shows such as 'The Killing Game,' 'This Means War,' 'Psych,' and movies like 'The Hollow Child' and 'Wedding of Dreams.'
As of now, the GoFundMe page has raised over $12,000 from nearly 200 donors, surpassing its initial goal of $10,000. The family expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support and asked for continued prayers during this challenging time.
