Country music star Morgan Wallen found himself in hot water once again after an incident in Nashville on April 7, 2023. According to multiple reports, Wallen was arrested and charged with three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct following an alleged incident at Chief's Bar. The singer is currently on a stadium tour and has a concert scheduled for Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi.
Wallen addressed the situation for the first time on April 20, taking to social media to express his remorse and contact those affected by the incident. He wrote, “I needed to take a moment to make things right with the people I've affected. I’ve reached out to Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the folks at Chief’s.” The singer also stated that there would be no changes to his tour schedule.
The incident occurred during the kick-off of Wallen's 2024 leg of the One Night at a Time world tour. According to police reports, two officers were standing outside Chief's Bar on Broadway when they witnessed a chair come from above and hit Broadway, landing approximately three feet away from them. The officers identified Morgan Wallen as the person who threw the chair and arrested him on scene.
Wallen has had a tumultuous career in recent years, with previous incidents including public intoxication and disorderly conduct charges, as well as using a racial slur which led to his record label and agency dropping him. However, his most recent album One Thing at a Time peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and produced the Hot 100 No. 1 hit Last Night.
