Motorola has recently announced the Edge 50 series, a new line of smartphones that includes three models: the Edge 50 Ultra, Edge 50 Pro, and Edge 50 Fusion. The most notable feature of these phones is the option for a wooden back cover. Let's take a closer look at what each model offers.
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is the top-tier device in the series, featuring a Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage. It also boasts a triple camera system with a main camera of 50 megapixels, telephoto lens of 64 megapixels, and an ultrawide lens that doubles as a macro. The Edge 50 Ultra is the first smartphone to use Pantone Validated technology for both its camera and display. It also supports wireless charging and has a high refresh rate OLED display.
The Motorola Edge 50 Pro, on the other hand, uses a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset and comes with up to 12GB of RAM. It does not support wireless charging but still offers a triple camera system with similar specifications as the Ultra model. The Edge 50 Pro also has a high refresh rate OLED display.
The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is the most affordable option in the series, featuring a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor and up to 12GB of memory. It comes with a two-camera system and has a hot pink vegan suede backing. All three models have IP68 ratings for water and dust resistance.
Motorola's new feature, Style Sync, generates wallpapers that match your outfit patterns and color palettes by uploading a picture of the pattern of your outfit. This tool is available on all three Edge 50 series phones.
The Edge 50 Ultra also has an impressive camera system with AI-powered features like adaptive stabilization, auto focus tracking, action shot, photo enhancement engine, and long exposure. Motorola's new Moto Buds+ with Sound by Bose are also available for purchase and offer active noise cancellation and EQ tuning.
The Edge 50 series phones will be available first outside of North America in the coming weeks. The exact launch date for North America is yet to be announced.
