Botulism is a potentially fatal form of food poisoning, and symptoms include general weakness, dizziness, double-vision, trouble speaking or swallowing, difficulty breathing, weakness of other muscles, abdominal distension and constipation. Symptoms can range from six hours to up to two weeks after consuming the contaminated food.

The recalled coffee products were distributed nationwide through various roasters and retailers as well as Snapchill's website. No reported illnesses have been linked to the recalled coffee, and Snapchill is not aware of any instances where their products contained botulinum toxin.

Snapchill is working on filing the necessary notification with FDA and advises consumers to either destroy the recalled products or return them for a refund. The canned coffees are identified by the text 'Produced and distributed by Snapchill LLC' underneath the nutrition facts panel, as well as some that bear 'Snapchill Coffee' on the label.

Botulism is caused by Clostridium botulinum bacteria and their toxins. The FDA advises individuals experiencing symptoms of botulism to seek medical attention immediately.
