The NBA free agency period has seen several significant moves and rumors surrounding various players. Two of the most notable names are DeMar DeRozan and LeBron James.
DeMar DeRozan, a six-time NBA All-Star, has expressed interest in joining the Miami Heat but they are unable to offer him what he's seeking. The Chicago Bulls have discussed a sign-and-trade involving DeRozan with the Sacramento Kings. Meanwhile, the Kings could be looking for an experienced scorer like DeRozan to strengthen their team.
DeRozan has 63 career playoff games under his belt with three separate organizations and averaged 24.0 points and 5.3 assists per game last season while shooting 48.0 percent from the field.
On the other hand, LeBron James, who is the NBA's all-time scoring leader and holds numerous records including most field goal attempts, minutes played, field goals made, assists, games played, three-pointers made and steals, has agreed to a two-year $104 million deal to stay with the Los Angeles Lakers.
LeBron led the Lakers to the NBA title in 2019-20 season after the season restarted due to Covid-19 pandemic. He averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists last season and has won four NBA titles and has been Finals MVP in each of the Finals series he's won.
Despite the Kings' interest in DeRozan, no deal has been reached yet between Sacramento and Chicago. The Heat are also reportedly hoping for an opportunity to acquire a player they want arises this summer.
