Samsung has recently announced the launch of a new budget smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch FE. This entry-level model is designed to offer many of the features found in Samsung's flagship watches at a more affordable price point.
The Galaxy Watch FE comes with a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display and BioActive Sensor for heart health monitoring. It also includes an HR Alert and Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) to help users keep track of their heart rate.
Users can perform a quick ECG using the Galaxy Watch FE, making it a valuable tool for those concerned about their cardiovascular health. Additionally, the device offers sleep pattern monitoring and coaching tips to help users create a sleep-friendly environment for better rest.
The Galaxy Watch FE is available in one size (40mm) and features Sapphire Crystal Glass protection against scratches. It has a battery capacity of 247 mAh, which is slightly smaller than the Galaxy Watch 6's 300 mAh battery.
The device runs on One UI 5 Watch with Wear OS and offers over 100 workouts for fitness enthusiasts. The Personalized Heart Rate Zone feature helps users optimize their workout intensity, while Body Composition features provide insights into body and fitness data to help users reach their personal progress goals.
The Galaxy Watch FE is priced at $199.99 for the Bluetooth variant and will be available starting June 24. The LTE version, which will be released later this year, is priced at $249.99.
Despite being a budget model, the Galaxy Watch FE still offers many of Samsung's hallmark fitness and wellness features. However, it does not include temperature sensor or blood oxygen and blood pressure monitoring capabilities found in more premium models like the Galaxy Watch 6.
