Nicolas Cage's eldest son, Weston Coppola Cage, was arrested on July 10, 2024, in Los Angeles for felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon. The incident stems from an altercation that occurred on April 28 at a downtown Los Angeles apartment complex. According to reports from multiple sources, including Entertainment Weekly and USA TODAY, Weston allegedly punched two victims multiple times, causing injury.
The LAPD responded to the scene and completed a police report. The case was presented to the District Attorney's office on May 10, resulting in two counts of assault with a deadly weapon being filed against Weston on June 26. An arrest warrant was issued following this filing.
Weston surrendered at the LAPD station on July 10 and was later released on a $150,000 bond. He is currently out of custody.
The incident reportedly followed a mental-health crisis that Weston's mother, Christina Fulton, had attempted to help him through. In May, TMZ reported that Fulton had been injured during the altercation and released photos of her with visible bruises and a black eye. However, she disputed reports that there had been an argument prior to the incident.
Weston has previously faced legal troubles, including a DUI arrest in 2017. He is Nicolas Cage's oldest child and has appeared in several of his father's films, including 'Lord of War' and most recently 'The Night They Came Home.'
