The incident occurred just before midnight at the club located on South Peters Street. Police are investigating the shooting and have yet to release information about a motive or description of possible shooter(s).

Five men and six women were among those injured in the shooting, according to reports from NBC News, WDSU, Fox8live, and Axios.

The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) confirmed that officers found Poleate lying on the sidewalk with fatal gunshot wounds. The other victims arrived at University Medical Center or Ochsner Medical Center's West Bank campus seeking treatment for their injuries.
