Odell Beckham Jr., the enigmatic and talented wide receiver, is set to join the Miami Dolphins for the 2024 NFL season. After a one-year stint with the Baltimore Ravens, Beckham will now team up with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle in Miami's explosive offense.
Beckham's journey in professional football began when he was drafted by the New York Giants with the 12th overall pick in 2014. He quickly made a name for himself, earning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and becoming a three-time Pro Bowler during his five seasons with Big Blue.
However, Beckham's tenure with the Giants ended in a trade to the Cleveland Browns in 2019. He spent just over two years with the Browns before joining the Los Angeles Rams for their Super Bowl-winning campaign in 2021. Unfortunately, Beckham suffered a torn ACL during that Super Bowl and missed all of the 2022 season.
Last year, Beckham returned to action with the Ravens and recorded 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns in the regular season. He also had four catches for 34 yards in two postseason games.
The Dolphins were reportedly interested in signing Beckham prior to the NFL Draft, but no deal was reached at that time. With Miami's explosive offense led by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, Beckham is expected to contribute as the team's third option out wide.
Despite his impressive career statistics, including 390 receptions for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns with the Giants, Beckham has faced criticism for inconsistency and off-field issues. However, if he can stay healthy and focused in Miami, he could once again prove to be a valuable asset to his team.
The Dolphins have also added tight end Jonnu Smith and re-signed reserve wideouts Braxton Berrios and River Cracraft this offseason. With these additions, the Dolphins are poised to field a formidable offense in 2024.
