DeVonta Smith, the wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, has agreed to a three-year extension with the team through the 2028 season. The contract is worth $75 million in total, with $51 million guaranteed.
Smith was drafted 10th overall by the Eagles in the 2021 NFL Draft and has proven himself as a valuable asset to the team since then. In his first three seasons, he has recorded 240 receptions for 3,178 yards and 19 touchdowns.
The extension comes after Smith finished his rookie contract in 2023 and played on a fifth-year option worth $15.591 million in 2025 that was exercised as part of the new deal.
Smith has saved some of his best work for the postseason, with eight grabs for 148 yards in the wild-card loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and seven catches for 100 yards in Super Bowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Eagles offense will look different in 2024 under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, and Smith is expected to benefit from this change.
Smith finished 20th in the NFL with 1,066 receiving yards in 2023 and believes there's more to come from his game.
The Eagles have been busy paying key players on offense this offseason. Guard Landon Dickerson signed a record-breaking four-year, $84 million extension in March and tackle Jordan Mailata signed a three-year, $66 million contract earlier this month.
