Rodeo Bull Escapes, Injures Three at Sisters Rodeo in Oregon

Multiple people were injured during the final performance of the 84th Sisters Rodeo in Oregon on June 8, 2024. A rodeo bull named Party Bus escaped from the arena and charged through a concession area and parking lot, injuring at least three individuals. Two of these individuals were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

The incident occurred during Lee Greenwood's performance of God Bless the USA, with many spectators recording the scene on their phones. The bull jumped over a several-foot-tall fence and ran through the crowd, tossing some people in its path before being captured by rodeo staff.

Three people were injured as a direct result of the bull's escape. One person was lifted off the ground, spun end over end, and bounced off its horns before hitting the ground. Another deputy sustained minor injuries while responding to the scene.

The Sisters Rodeo Association issued a statement saying that they wish all those affected by this rare incident a speedy recovery. They also noted that rodeos pose some risks, but their highest priority is always the safety of their fans.

Party Bus was taken back into custody and plans are being made to train him further to prevent such incidents in the future.

The article by Katherine Donlevy contains selective reporting and sensationalism. The author only reports details that support the deceptive narrative of a dangerous bull escaping an arena and causing chaos. She fails to mention that the bull was trying to avoid two men on horseback before jumping over the fence, which contextualizes the incident as part of a rodeo event rather than a random act of violence. The author also uses emotional manipulation by describing in detail how the woman was injured and tossed by the bull, creating a sensationalized and fear-inducing image for readers.
    • An out-of-control rodeo bull leaped out of an Oregon arena and charged through a crowd of spectators Saturday, violently tossing and trampling a woman who was in its path.
    • The bull, named Party Bus, flipped the woman so that she landed squarely on its head before the frantic animal spun her a second time off its horns.
    • Three people were injured 'as a direct result of the bull', two of whom were transported to a local hospital.

    • But the bull’s desperate attempt at freedom was short-lived, and Party Bus was captured by rodeo pickup men next to livestock holding pens, the Sisters Rodeo Association said.
