Rupert Murdoch, the 93-year-old media mogul and former chairman of News Corp and Fox Corporation, married Elena Zhukova, a retired molecular biologist, on June 1, 2024. The ceremony took place at Murdoch's California vineyard and estate in Bel Air.
Murdoch met Zhukova through his third wife Wendi Deng. Before meeting Zhukova, Murdoch was engaged to Ann Lesley Smith but the engagement was called off shortly after it was announced. Murdoch has a net worth of $9.77 billion and owns several media outlets including The Sun, which reported on his wedding.
Zhukova is the mother of Russian art collector Dasha Zhukova and was previously married to billionaire energy investor Alexander Zhukov. She wore a white Emilia Wickstead dress for the ceremony and Murdoch wore a black suit with a white button-down shirt and pale yellow tie.
Murdoch's previous marriages include those to Patricia Booker, Anna Maria Torv, Wendi Deng, and Jerry Hall. He has six children: Prudence, Elisabeth, Grace, Chloe, Lachlan and James.
The wedding was attended by several high-powered individuals including New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and News Corp chief executive Robert Thompson.
Murdoch announced his engagement to Zhukova in March 2024 after they began dating the previous summer. They were married just two months later.
In September 2023, Murdoch stepped down as chairman of Fox Corporation and executive chairman of News Corp, handing the reins over to his son Lachlan. He continues to serve in the capacity of chairman emeritus for both companies.
