In Canada, the outbreak has sickened 129 people across six provinces, with a significant spike in cases in Quebec, where 91 infections have been confirmed.

The recall was initiated by Cut Fruit Express and TGD Cuts, LLC, affecting various stores and brands. The recalled cantaloupes were sold between October and November. The CDC has expanded the recall to include pre-cut cantaloupe sold at major grocery stores.

Health officials are advising consumers not to buy, eat, or serve cantaloupe if they don't know the source. Investigations are ongoing to determine if additional products are linked to the illnesses. Consumers are specifically advised not to buy or eat cantaloupes distributed by Malichita or Rudy.
