Samsung is reportedly making a change to its Galaxy S series lineup for the upcoming Galaxy S25 models. According to various sources, Samsung may not be releasing a Plus model this time around. However, recent developments suggest that this might not be the case.
The absence of a Plus model in IMEI databases has led some publications to speculate that Samsung is dropping it from the lineup altogether. For instance, Android Headlines reported that there was no evidence of a Galaxy S25 Plus in their database, leading them to conclude that Samsung might be focusing on just two models: the regular Galaxy S25 and the high-end Galaxy S25 Ultra.
However, other sources have since come forward with conflicting information. For example, SamMobile reported that the development of a Galaxy S25 Plus is still ongoing based on information from multiple sources. Additionally, GalaxyClub claimed that Samsung is indeed developing three new Galaxy S smartphones internally as F1, F2, and F3, which relate to the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
It's important to note that IMEI databases are not always up-to-date or complete. Samsung may still be in the process of adding information about the upcoming devices to these databases. Therefore, it's possible that the absence of a Plus model in some databases does not necessarily mean it won't be released.
The Galaxy S25 series is expected to feature significant design changes and larger batteries compared to their predecessors. The regular Galaxy S25 is rumored to have a 50 MP main camera and a 12 MP selfie shooter, while the high-end Galaxy S25 Ultra will reportedly have a 200 MP main camera, an ultra-wide-angle camera, and two additional 50 MP telephoto cameras.
Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S25 series in January 2025. Stay tuned for more updates as more information becomes available.
