Samsung has been rolling out the One UI 6.1 update to its flagship Galaxy S and Galaxy Z smartphones launched in 2021 and 2022. The update brings several AI features, usability improvements, and general software stability enhancements.

According to multiple sources, Samsung initiated a surprise rollout of the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 in South Korea on May 9th. The updates improve general software stability according to the changelog.

Samsung also resumed the rollout of One UI 6.1 for its Galaxy S22 series after a brief pause due to a bug that caused some devices to become bricked. The update is now available in South Korea for the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra.

The oldest devices on Samsung's list, the Flip 3 and Fold 3, will only get Circle to Search according to SamMobile. Some grumblings from S21 users have been reported about not getting AI-powered image editing tools in the One UI 6.1 update.

One UI 6.1 will also make its way to the Galaxy A53, A54, and S21 FE.

Since its rollout in March 2024, over 8.8 million users have downloaded and actively used the Galaxy AI capabilities across Europe. Samsung aims to have over 100 million users experiencing its Galaxy AI features worldwide by the end of 2024.

The article contains some instances of appeals to authority and dichotomous depiction. The author mentions that the update has already begun in Korea and is likely to hit other territories shortly, implying that this information comes from a reliable source. This is an appeal to authority fallacy as the author does not provide any evidence or citation for this claim. Additionally, the author states that 'Samsung might draw that line at its mid-range phones' and 'we could end up with two tiers of Samsung devices: the haves and have-nots', which is a dichotomous depiction as it oversimplifies the situation by presenting only two options. No other fallacies were found.
