Samsung held its annual Unpacked event in Paris, France, where it unveiled the latest additions to its lineup of Android-powered devices: the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Both phones are part of Samsung's ongoing battle with Apple for global smartphone supremacy.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6, priced at $1,899, is a foldable device that opens up to reveal a large 7.6-inch display when fully unfolded. It is the thinnest foldable phone from Samsung yet and features improved artificial intelligence capabilities through Samsung's Galaxy AI suite.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6, priced at $1,099, opens like a traditional flip phone but boasts a bendable screen. It also offers incremental improvements over its predecessor and is available in various colors.
Samsung also announced the Galaxy Ring, a new smart ring designed for health and wellness. The ring features sensors for heart rate, blood flow, skin temperature detection, sleep score analysis, movement during slumber tracking, menstrual cycles monitoring, and offers suggestions to improve overall health. It runs for up to seven days on a single charge and costs $400.
Preorders for both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 started on July 7, with shipping dates set for July 24. The devices are available at major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and through Samsung's website.
