Samsung is set to release a new generation of its foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and possibly other models. Based on recent leaks and rumors, here's what we know about the upcoming devices.
Firstly, the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is reportedly more boxy and wider than previous models. Ice Universe, a reliable Samsung tipster, shared an image of the next Fold with a boxy design and thinner hinge. This change could make typing on the cover display easier and improve aspect ratio issues in some apps and games.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to feature improvements such as a smaller crease on its main display due to the thicker ultra-thin glass (UTG), but major hardware upgrades might be reserved for other models, like the Ultra and Slim variants. These rumored devices could launch in early 2025 with impressive specs like a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main camera.
The Galaxy Z Fold6 is likely to debut at Samsung's upcoming Unpacked event in July, alongside the Flip 6 and other new products. The cover display of the Galaxy Z Fold6 is rumored to be wider than previous models, with a substantial 6.3 inches and a 22:9 aspect ratio.
Despite some leaks suggesting otherwise, Samsung is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in the Galaxy Z Fold6. The device will also retain the same cameras as its predecessor: a 50MP main (ISOCELL GN3), a 10MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultrawide camera.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Galaxy Z Fold6 and other upcoming Samsung devices.
