Sara Ramirez Files for Divorce from Ryan DeBolt: Irreconcilable Differences Cited

Sara Ramírez, a renowned actor known for their roles in Grey's Anatomy, And Just Like That, and other productions, has recently filed for divorce from Ryan DeBolt. The couple married in 2012 but separated in 2018. Ramírez announced the separation three years later through a since-deleted Instagram post.

According to court documents obtained by various media outlets, Ramírez cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce. The couple has requested that their assets be divided according to their prenuptial agreement, and neither party is eligible for spousal support. Ramírez's representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Ramírez rose to fame with a brief role in You've Got Mail and small parts in Spider-Man and Chicago. They gained significant recognition for their role as the Lady of the Lake in Spamalot on Broadway. Ramírez then spent 11 seasons playing Dr. Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy, ultimately leaving after its 12th season.

Ramírez's most recent notable role was that of Che Diaz, the standup comedian who served as the primary love interest for Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) on the first two seasons of Sex and the City sequel series And Just Like That. However, Ramírez exited the show ahead of its forthcoming third season.

Ramírez's exit from And Just Like That came shortly after they called out Hollywood as a 'duplicitous' industry in a now-deleted Instagram post criticizing entertainers' silence on the conflict in Gaza. Ramírez wrote, 'While they give awards away, casting directors and agents are making black lists of actors and workers who post anything in support of Palestinians and Gaza to ensure they will not work again.'

Some fans speculated that Ramírez was hinting that they had been fired from the show for their position on Gaza; however, Variety reported that sources close to the show indicated that Che's time had naturally come to an end, and that Ramírez's exit had nothing to do with politics. Nixon has been one of Hollywood's most outspoken advocates for Palestine in recent months, and her status as a lead on the show remains unchanged.

Ramírez is currently 48 years old and continues to pursue acting opportunities. They have not made any public statements regarding their divorce or future plans.
