A Seattle man known as the 'Belltown Hellcat' for his controversial driving and social media behavior was taken into custody on July 29, 2024, following a contentious court hearing. Miles Hudson appeared before Judge Seth Niesen on two separate cases: one related to reckless driving charges and another for stalking allegations.
Hudson arrived at the hearing with a cloth covering his face and head, claiming it was for religious reasons but failing to elaborate further. The judge denied his request for release on personal recognizance due to Hudson's past domestic violence arrest.
In the reckless driving case, Hudson was ordered not to operate the vehicle on any public roadway in Washington and had $2,500 bail set. For the stalking charges, he was placed on electronic home monitoring if he posts bail and forbidden from posting on his Instagram or Twitch accounts.
The 'Belltown Hellcat' gained notoriety for his late-night driving through Seattle streets in a souped-up Dodge Charger Hellcat SRT, often exceeding 100 miles per hour. Residents have complained about the noise and disturbance caused by the car, which sounds like gunshots due to its aftermarket exhaust system.
Additionally, Hudson was accused of stalking an ex-girlfriend by showing up at her workplace and home after their breakup and sending explicit videos of her to another man. He also allegedly harassed her in front of her co-workers.
Hudson's Instagram following has grown significantly due to his controversial behavior, with over 750,000 followers. In a recent video interview, he suggested that those bothered by the noise should consider relocating to higher units or dealing with it. He also dismissed concerns about disturbing pets or children.
