A Secret Service agent was robbed at gunpoint during President Joe Biden's trip to California for a Hollywood fundraiser on Saturday night. The incident occurred near a residential community in Tustin, California, at 9:36 p.m. PT.

The agent discharged their weapon during the robbery but it is unknown if they hit the suspect as they have not been located yet.

Tustin Police Department is leading the investigation and searching for a silver Infiniti FX35 or a similar looking vehicle in connection to the crime.

President Biden had returned to his hotel prior to the incident following a star-studded campaign fundraiser in Los Angeles that featured a conversation between him and former President Barack Obama moderated by Jimmy Kimmel. The fundraiser, which raised more than $30 million for Biden's reelection effort, also included guests George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Jason Bateman, Jack Black and Barbara Streisand.

Last year, a Secret Service member on security detail for Naomi Biden was involved in a similar incident where they fired at suspects attempting to break into a US government vehicle in Washington DC. Two individuals were charged in relation to that break-in earlier this year.

The Tustin Police Department said no suspects have been identified yet and the investigation is ongoing.
