Sony's Afeela prototype car is set to make its debut in Gran Turismo 7 for free at 11PM PT / 2AM ET on April 25, according to a recent announcement from Sony Honda Mobility. The update also includes the addition of the Skoda Vision Gran Turismo concept and Chevrolet Chevelle SS454 Sport Coupe '70. These cars join a list of new features in the game, including new events in World Circuits, conversations with car designers and characters, and car maintenance services for select vehicles.
The Afeela prototype is a significant addition to Gran Turismo 7 as it marks Sony's entry into the automotive industry. The Skoda Vision Gran Turismo concept was created exclusively for the game, while the Chevelle SS454 Sport Coupe '70 is a classic muscle car that has been added to the lineup. These cars can be accessed through various means in-game, including purchasing them from dealerships or unlocking them through other methods.
The update also includes new events for World Circuits, such as the Vision Gran Turismo Trophy - Grand Valley - Highway 1, American FR Challenge 550 - Trial Mountain Circuit Reverse, and Japanese Clubman Cup 550 - Alsace Village Reverse. Players can participate in these events to earn rewards and improve their skills.
Additionally, new conversations with car designers and characters are available by speaking with them in the Café when certain cars are selected in the Garage. This feature adds a layer of depth to the game, allowing players to learn more about the history and background of various vehicles.
Car Maintenance & Service Engine Swaps have been added for select vehicles, including Bugatti Veyron Gr.4, Chevrolet Corvette (C1) '58, Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Sport Coupé (C2) '63, Honda NSX Gr.4, and Lexus LC500 '17.
San Diego has been added as a featured Curation in Scapes, allowing players to explore the city's unique landscapes and landmarks in-game. A new support is also now available for the FANATEC Gran Turismo DD Extreme race wheel controller, providing improved functionality and performance.
Various text localization issues have been addressed, along with other minor bug fixes to improve the overall user experience of Gran Turismo 7.
