Walmart is set to release a new streaming device, the Onn Pro, which combines both a 4K Chromecast and a smart speaker in one. The device was leaked by multiple sources, including Superdell-TV and AFTVNews.
The Onn Pro comes with several upgrades compared to its predecessor. It is powered by an Amlogic S905X4 chipset, which is a slight upgrade from the S905Y4 found in the previous streaming stick. The device also has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, providing more space for users to store their media files.
One of the most notable features of the Onn Pro is its built-in far-field microphones, allowing users to control it hands-free using Google Assistant. The device also has a physical switch to disable the mics for privacy concerns.
The Onn Pro supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, ensuring an immersive viewing experience with high picture quality and cinematic sound. It also offers Wi-Fi 6 connectivity for faster streaming speeds.
Despite its impressive features, the Onn Pro is priced affordably at $50. This puts it in competition with Google's Chromecast, which has been a market leader in the budget streaming device segment.
The release date of the Onn Pro is yet to be announced by Walmart. However, given that some units have already made their way into stores, it's likely that an official announcement and wider availability are just around the corner.
