Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, two of the most prominent rookies in the WNBA this season, will face each other not as rivals but as teammates at the WNBA All-Star Game on July 21. Both players have had impressive performances throughout the season and were selected for the All-Star Game based on fan votes.
Clark, who was drafted first overall by the Indiana Fever, has averaged 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and a league-leading 8.2 assists per game in July. She set a WNBA record with 19 assists in one game and became the fastest rookie to reach both 400 points and 200 assists in just her first 26 games.
Reese, who was drafted seventh overall by the Chicago Sky, holds the record for most consecutive double-doubles in a single WNBA season. She averages 13.5 points and an impressive 11.9 rebounds per game.
During practice on July 20, Clark and Reese showcased their skills once again, with both players making half-court shots during separate drills.
Clark and Reese have a history dating back to the NCAA championship game in 2023, where LSU's Reese led her team to victory over Iowa's Clark. However, they will now join forces as teammates on Team WNBA for the All-Star Game.
The WNBA All-Star Game is set to take place at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, with tipoff scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
