Luke Taylor

Luke Taylor is a former Royal Marines sergeant who was killed in Afghanistan. He was shot dead by a rogue Afghan soldier with a personal grievance while serving at their forward operating base in Lashkar Gah on 26 March 2012. The incident occurred when the Afghan soldier, waiting outside the base to collect a VIP, became agitated upon not being allowed inside. He then opened fire with a machine gun, fatally wounding Taylor and another serviceman, Lance Corporal Michael Foley. The coroner ruled that both men were unlawfully killed while on active duty overseas.
