Joe Winters

Joe Winters is a chief meteorologist who has been forecasting the weather for Eastern Iowa at KCRG-TV9 for more than 33 years. His work can be seen on KCRG-TV9's afternoon and evening newscasts. Joe grew up in Princeton, Wisconsin, and attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison before joining the First Alert Storm Team in August 1990. He was named chief meteorologist in 2006. Joe is married with two children and values his time at home with his family, as well as volunteering in the community and his church. He enjoys Farrell's kickboxing, cooking, riding RAGBRAI, and watching football. Throughout his career at KCRG-TV9, he has provided accurate weather forecasts and information on severe weather events to the people of Eastern Iowa.
